Potential form

"Can do": 書ける, 食べられる. Godan verbs take the え row and an ending of る; ichidan verbs take られる. する is the exception worth learning on its own — its potential is できる. Below: the rule for every class, then the potential form of all 1263 verbs on the JLPT lists, easiest first.
