Godan verb (う)
話し合うはなしあう
hanashiau話し合う (はなしあう, hanashiau) — to discuss — is a godan verb ending in う: 話し合って (te-form), 話し合った (past), 話し合わない (negative), 話し合います (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to talk together.
