払うはらう

harau

to pay (e.g. money, bill) · N4

払う (はらう, harau) — to pay — is a godan verb ending in う: 払って (te-form), 払った (past), 払わない (negative), 払います (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object.

How 払う conjugates · godan う-verb

Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
