Godan verb (う)
祝ういわう
iwau祝う (いわう, iwau) — to celebrate — is a godan verb ending in う: 祝って (te-form), 祝った (past), 祝わない (negative), 祝います (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to congratulate; to observe.

Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.
