Godan verb (う)
疑ううたがう
utagau疑う (うたがう, utagau) — to doubt — is a godan verb ending in う: 疑って (te-form), 疑った (past), 疑わない (negative), 疑います (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to distrust; to be suspicious of.
How 疑う conjugates · godan う-verb
Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
