Godan verb (る)
茂るしげる
shigeru茂る (しげる, shigeru) — to grow thickly — is a godan verb ending in る: 茂って (te-form), 茂った (past), 茂らない (negative), 茂ります (polite).
It also means to be in full leaf; to be rampant.

Only the last kana changes: る becomes ら, り, れ or ろ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
