Godan verb (す)

逸らすそらす

sorasu

to turn away (one's eyes, face, etc.) · N1

逸らす (そらす, sorasu) — to turn away — is a godan verb ending in す: そらして (te-form), そらした (past), そらさない (negative), そらします (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It is usually written in kana: そらす rather than 逸らす. It also means to avert; to divert.

How そらす conjugates · godan す-verb

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
