溶かすとかす

tokasu

to melt · N2

溶かす (とかす, tokasu) — to melt — is a godan verb ending in す: 溶かして (te-form), 溶かした (past), 溶かさない (negative), 溶かします (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to liquefy; to thaw.

How 溶かす conjugates · godan す-verb

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
