冷やす (ひやす, hiyasu) — to cool — is a godan verb ending in す: 冷やして (te-form), 冷やした (past), 冷やさない (negative), 冷やします (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to chill; to refrigerate.

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
