慣れる (なれる, nareru) — to get used to — is an ichidan verb: 慣れて (te-form), 慣れた (past), 慣れない (negative), 慣れます (polite).

It also means to grow accustomed to; to become familiar with.

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 慣れ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
