Ichidan verb
告げるつげる
tsugeru告げる (つげる, tsugeru) — to tell — is an ichidan verb: 告げて (te-form), 告げた (past), 告げない (negative), 告げます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to inform; to announce.

Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 告げ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
