Ichidan verb
手がけるてがける
tegakeru手がける (てがける, tegakeru) — to handle — is an ichidan verb: 手がけて (te-form), 手がけた (past), 手がけない (negative), 手がけます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to manage; to deal with.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
