得る (える, eru) — to get — is an ichidan verb: 得て (te-form), 得た (past), 得ない (negative), 得ます (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to earn; to acquire.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in too.
