Godan verb (う)
伴うともなう
tomonau伴う (ともなう, tomonau) — to accompany — is a godan verb ending in う: 伴って (te-form), 伴った (past), 伴わない (negative), 伴います (polite).
It also means to go hand in hand with; to be consequent upon.

Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
