嫌う (きらう, kirau) — to hate — is a godan verb ending in う: 嫌って (te-form), 嫌った (past), 嫌わない (negative), 嫌います (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to dislike; to loathe.

Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.
