Ichidan verb
求めるもとめる
motomeru求める (もとめる, motomeru) — to want — is an ichidan verb: 求めて (te-form), 求めた (past), 求めない (negative), 求めます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to wish for.

Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 求め. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
