Ichidan verb
押さえるおさえる
osaeru押さえる (おさえる, osaeru) — to pin down — is an ichidan verb: 押さえて (te-form), 押さえた (past), 押さえない (negative), 押さえます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to hold down; to press down.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
