Godan verb (す)
消すけす
kesu消す (けす, kesu) — to erase — is a godan verb ending in す: 消して (te-form), 消した (past), 消さない (negative), 消します (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to rub out; to rub off.

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
