Ichidan verb
捕まえるつかまえる
tsukamaeru捕まえる (つかまえる, tsukamaeru) — to catch — is an ichidan verb: 捕まえて (te-form), 捕まえた (past), 捕まえない (negative), 捕まえます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to capture; to arrest.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 捕まえ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
