Godan verb (う)

見舞うみまう

mimau

to visit and comfort or console · N2

見舞う (みまう, mimau) — to visit and comfort or console — is a godan verb ending in う: 見舞って (te-form), 見舞った (past), 見舞わない (negative), 見舞います (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to go to see; to ask after.

How 見舞う conjugates · godan う-verb

Only the last kana changes: う becomes わ, い, え or お.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
