見る (みる, miru) — to see — is an ichidan verb: 見て (te-form), 見た (past), 見ない (negative), 見ます (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to look; to watch.

How 見る conjugates · ichidan verb

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 見. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
