Godan verb (す)
申すもうす
mousu申す (もうす, mousu) — to say — is a godan verb ending in す: 申して (te-form), 申した (past), 申さない (negative), 申します (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to be called.
How 申す conjugates · godan す-verb
Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
