Ichidan verb
間違えるまちがえる
machigaeru間違える (まちがえる, machigaeru) — to make a mistake — is an ichidan verb: 間違えて (te-form), 間違えた (past), 間違えない (negative), 間違えます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to commit an error; to get wrong.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
