Godan verb (る)
迫るせまる
semaru迫る (せまる, semaru) — to approach — is a godan verb ending in る: 迫って (te-form), 迫った (past), 迫らない (negative), 迫ります (polite).
It also means to draw near; to be imminent.

Only the last kana changes: る becomes ら, り, れ or ろ.
