Godan verb (す)

生かすいかす

ikasu

to make (the best) use of · N1

生かす (いかす, ikasu) — to make use of — is a godan verb ending in す: 生かして (te-form), 生かした (past), 生かさない (negative), 生かします (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to put to good use; to leverage.

How 生かす conjugates · godan す-verb

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
