Godan verb (す)
催すもよおす
moyoosu催す (もよおす, moyoosu) — to hold — is a godan verb ending in す: 催して (te-form), 催した (past), 催さない (negative), 催します (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to give.

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
