起きるおきる
okiru起きる (おきる, okiru) — to get up — is an ichidan verb: 起きて (te-form), 起きた (past), 起きない (negative), 起きます (polite).
It also means to rise; to blaze up.

Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 起き. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
