掛ける (かける, kakeru) — to hang up — is an ichidan verb: かけて (te-form), かけた (past), かけない (negative), かけます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It is usually written in kana: かける rather than 掛ける. It also means to let hang; to suspend.
