降りる (おりる, oriru) — to descend — is an ichidan verb: 降りて (te-form), 降りた (past), 降りない (negative), 降ります (polite).

It also means to go down; to come down.

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 降り. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
