砕ける (くだける, kudakeru) — to break — is an ichidan verb: 砕けて (te-form), 砕けた (past), 砕けない (negative), 砕けます (polite).

It also means to be broken; to be smashed.

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 砕け. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
