Godan verb (す)
示すしめす
shimesu示す (しめす, shimesu) — to show — is a godan verb ending in す: 示して (te-form), 示した (past), 示さない (negative), 示します (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to demonstrate; to tell.
How 示す conjugates · godan す-verb
Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.

For a す-verb even the て and た forms follow the pattern; every other godan ending changes its sound there.
