試みるこころみる
kokoromiru試みる (こころみる, kokoromiru) — to try — is an ichidan verb: 試みて (te-form), 試みた (past), 試みない (negative), 試みます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to attempt; to have a go.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
