Godan verb (く)
焼くやく
yaku焼く (やく, yaku) — to burn — is a godan verb ending in く: 焼いて (te-form), 焼いた (past), 焼かない (negative), 焼きます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object.

Only the last kana changes: く becomes か, き, け or こ.
