Godan verb (く)

動くうごく

ugoku

to move · N4

動く (うごく, ugoku) — to move — is a godan verb ending in く: 動いて (te-form), 動いた (past), 動かない (negative), 動きます (polite).

It also means to stir; to shift.

How 動く conjugates · godan く-verb

Only the last kana changes: く becomes か, き, け or こ.

Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
