Godan verb (す)
為すなす
nasu為す (なす, nasu) — to do — is a godan verb ending in す: なして (te-form), なした (past), なさない (negative), なします (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It is usually written in kana: なす rather than 為す. It also means to commit; to carry out.

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
