呼ぶ (よぶ, yobu) — to call out — is a godan verb ending in ぶ: 呼んで (te-form), 呼んだ (past), 呼ばない (negative), 呼びます (polite).

It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to call; to invoke.

How 呼ぶ conjugates · godan ぶ-verb

Only the last kana changes: ぶ becomes ば, び, べ or ぼ.
