Ichidan verb
受け止めるうけとめる
uketomeru受け止める (うけとめる, uketomeru) — to catch — is an ichidan verb: 受け止めて (te-form), 受け止めた (past), 受け止めない (negative), 受け止めます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to stop the blow.

Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 受け止め. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
