Ichidan verb
受けるうける
ukeru受ける (うける, ukeru) — to receive — is an ichidan verb: 受けて (te-form), 受けた (past), 受けない (negative), 受けます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to get.
How 受ける conjugates · ichidan verb
Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 受け. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
