How 鍛える conjugates · ichidan verb

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 鍛え. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

鍛える dropsstem + ending
鍛えない鍛えないnegative · I don't train it. 鍛えます鍛えますpolite present 鍛えて鍛えてte-form · I forge it and … 鍛えた鍛えたpast · I forged it. 鍛えられる鍛えられるpotential · I can train it. 鍛えれば鍛えればif · If I train it, ... 鍛えよう鍛えようvolitional · Let's train it.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.

Aa Dimmed forms are too rare in everyday Japanese for the game to quiz.
