Ichidan verb
確かめるたしかめる
tashikameru確かめる (たしかめる, tashikameru) — to make sure — is an ichidan verb: 確かめて (te-form), 確かめた (past), 確かめない (negative), 確かめます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to check; to ascertain.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 確かめ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
