通じる (つうじる, tsuujiru) — to be open — is an ichidan verb: 通じて (te-form), 通じた (past), 通じない (negative), 通じます (polite).

It also means to lead to; to communicate.

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 通じ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.
