準じる (じゅんじる, junjiru) — to follow — is an ichidan verb: 準じて (te-form), 準じた (past), 準じない (negative), 準じます (polite).

It also means to conform to; to be based on.

Drop the る, then add the ending.

Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 準じ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
