Godan verb (す)
戻すもどす
modosu戻す (もどす, modosu) — to put back — is a godan verb ending in す: 戻して (te-form), 戻した (past), 戻さない (negative), 戻します (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to return; to give back.

Only the last kana changes: す becomes さ, し, せ or そ.
Which one depends on the ending. The five are one line of the hiragana chart — same consonant, vowels あ・い・う・え・お — and everything before that kana never changes.
