Ichidan verb
免れるまぬがれる
manugareru免れる (まぬがれる, manugareru) — to escape — is an ichidan verb: 免れて (te-form), 免れた (past), 免れない (negative), 免れます (polite).
It is transitive: it takes a direct object. It also means to be saved from; to be rescued from.
How 免れる conjugates · ichidan verb
Drop the る, then add the ending.
Nothing else moves: every ending attaches straight to the stem 免れ. That is what makes ichidan the easy class.

No sound changes and no vowel rows. The catch is telling ichidan from godan: plenty of godan verbs end in る too.
