強いつよい
tsuyoi強い (つよい, tsuyoi) — strong — is an い-adjective: 強かった (past), 強くない (negative), 強くて (te-form), 強いです (polite).
It also means potent; competent.

Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem 強. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.

Every い-adjective works this way. The one exception is いい, which conjugates from its older form よい.
