欲しいほしい
hoshii欲しい (ほしい, hoshii) — wanting — is an い-adjective: 欲しかった (past), 欲しくない (negative), 欲しくて (te-form), 欲しいです (polite).
It also means desiring; wishing for.
How 欲しい conjugates · い-adjective
Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem 欲し. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.

Every い-adjective works this way. The one exception is いい, which conjugates from its older form よい.
