眠いねむい
nemui眠い (ねむい, nemui) — sleepy — is an い-adjective: 眠かった (past), 眠くない (negative), 眠くて (te-form), 眠いです (polite).
It also means drowsy; somnolent.
How 眠い conjugates · い-adjective
Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem 眠. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.
