鬱陶しいうっとうしい
uttoushii鬱陶しい (うっとうしい, uttoushii) — gloomy — is an い-adjective: うっとうしかった (past), うっとうしくない (negative), うっとうしくて (te-form), うっとうしいです (polite).
It is usually written in kana: うっとうしい rather than 鬱陶しい. It also means depressing.

Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem うっとうし. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.

Every い-adjective works this way. The one exception is いい, which conjugates from its older form よい.
