目出度いめでたい
medetai目出度い (めでたい, medetai) — happy — is an い-adjective: めでたかった (past), めでたくない (negative), めでたくて (te-form), めでたいです (polite).
It is usually written in kana: めでたい rather than 目出度い. It also means auspicious; propitious.

Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem めでた. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.

Every い-adjective works this way. The one exception is いい, which conjugates from its older form よい.
