可愛いかわいい
kawaii可愛い (かわいい, kawaii) — cute — is an い-adjective: かわいかった (past), かわいくない (negative), かわいくて (te-form), かわいいです (polite).
It is usually written in kana: かわいい rather than 可愛い. It also means adorable; charming.

Drop the final い, then add the ending.
Every form is built on the stem かわい. The one that isn't: the polite present, which is the whole word plus です.
